This infamous book made its author Philip Roth famous. It was recently featured on First Tuesday. They loved it. We didn't.

Ratings (out of 17):

Emma: 5 - just didn't get into it

Maree: 10 - enjoyed parts of this - would have been good to have read 40 years ago, in its time.

Wendy: 8 - (hadn't finished) Seems to jump all over the place, but having heard the other comments I'm intrigued so I will finish it.

Leigha: 8 - just below half for the score, which is how I felt when I read it.

Tim: 6 - quite disappointing.
